The weekend wrap-up
15 April , 2013A very classic tantrum type photo…of which there were quite a few this past weekend too.
Barbie the dolphin.
That dolphin sure gets around…she had a nap in every bed in the house!
Need I say it? Okay-okay, if you insist. 😉 Ballito!
Ramble time:
I hope you all had a nice and restful weekend? We had a fair bit of excitement packed into ours as usual.
My brother and K came round to my folks’ place Saturday morning to announce their engagement. After that we had a lovely family visit with my dad’s family in Pretoria while my Gran was at my late step-grandfather’s family reunion, and on Sunday while the kids (brother and future SIL) were having a celebratory lunch with my folks I had high tea with Marcia, Jeanette, Laura and MrsFF at a little place in Observatory (the place was lovely, although I could have done without the scenic tour of Hillbrow my GPS put me through to get there and back – you know that you are well off the beaten track when the police start eyeing you out like you’re the suspicious person!). If I had known Jeanette and I were both going to be there I would have suggested we go together, so we could have joined forces in GPS swearing on the way there. 😉
Secret place deadlines have been met, secret group demi-gods of requirements appeased – altogether not a bad place to start a Monday from position-wise.
Nicola had the best time playing with our little cousin Nathan on Saturday and was INCONSOLABLE when we had to go home. She was crying and screaming at us to go back to “Nathan’s house” for almost half an hour into the journey home. I’m just glad that they got on so well, and I think we definitely need to schedule another visit soon. I love that she’s getting this attached to other kids for a change and not just the grown-ups, whose company she usually prefers.
Of course we’re all abuzz about the upcoming nuptials of the brother bear and K. K already has a very clear idea of what she has in mind for the day, even if they don’t exactly know which day it will be. I’m sure they can’t wait to go round showing off the sparkler to their friends, unfortunately it had to go in for re-sizing and they’ll only get it back later this week. When I came back from the tea yesterday we all had champagne together to celebrate their engagement with them.
As for the tea, thank you Marcia for organising the event – I really did have a great time catching up with everyone again! I was having a motor-mouth kind of day though, so I wonder if I left these ladies thinking that I was either completely unhinged or that I was at least at some point in the past completely so, if not today…sorry about that! I am mostly harmless, really. 😉
You do sound harmless to me… and luck for Brother and K on their engagement…
by bulldog 15 April , 2013 at 3:13 pmWell, mostly harmless at least! 😉 Thanks…
by Louisa 16 April , 2013 at 8:44 amI’m so sorry that I missed yesterday’s event. With hubby gone on business, it was just not possible. Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
by blackhuff 15 April , 2013 at 3:34 pmSorry you couldn’t make it. You would have had a blast taking photos in that garden!
by Louisa 16 April , 2013 at 8:45 amI like it when you have a motor mouth kind of day 🙂
So glad your week was off to an awesome start.
I was toodling along just fine UNTIL I missed the Sauer Str turn and then I was going in circles retracing my steps. Remember my directional abilities are not great to start with so it was “fun”. Thank goodness i left 20 mins early because I was smack bang on time for the meeting.
by Marcia (123 blog) 15 April , 2013 at 7:46 pmThose one ways can really mess with your head! I’m sure you’ll know your way around in no time.
Hahaha…thanks. Some days I just don’t take my filters along with me when I go somewhere. 😉
by Louisa 16 April , 2013 at 8:47 amOh I am jealous of your great afternoon! Love all the happy stuff
by cat@jugglingact 16 April , 2013 at 9:23 amWe missed you there…

Hahaha! Just keeping it real. 😉
by Louisa 17 April , 2013 at 1:42 pmIt was a lovely meet and I loved that it was small and we could all chat nicely :))
by Laura-kim Allmayer 17 April , 2013 at 7:11 pmI agree! You are looking really great by the way. Good luck with the last scrambles before the big day.
by Louisa 18 April , 2013 at 9:38 amThe tantrum picture looks like a hide and seek game 😆
It was nice seeing you again and don’t worry I think we were all motor mouths at certain times during the course of the evening 🙂
Congrats to your brother on his engagement. Wish them lots of stress-free wedding planning 😉
by Mrs FF 17 April , 2013 at 7:37 pmHahaha! It kind of does look like that, doesn’t it? 🙂
by Louisa 18 April , 2013 at 9:39 amI love the tantrum pic and of course the final pic just completely does it for me. Have I mentioned that the beach is my happy place and that I can sit and stare at it for ages? Sounds like you guys had an awesome High Tea. Glad you had a great time!
by Julia 18 April , 2013 at 7:56 pmI also love staring at the sea for hours, but with Nicola I have to keep at least one eye on her because she’s pretty fearless. 😉
