End of a chapter, and beginning of a season

12 December , 2014

Today was Nicola’s last day of Nursery School. Wow…can you believe it?! No teary goodbyes from her, thankfully…I don’t think she fully understands how much life is about to change for us.

And at her age, I think that’s exactly the way it should be.

We got a letter from next year’s primary school. They don’t make you wait till you get there to know where you’ll end up. How nice is that, right. We already know which class will be hers and who will be her teacher. She is extremely excited about all the new friends that she will meet next year. And the class colour is one of her favourites, so she’s convinced that’s why they’ve allocated her to that class.πŸ˜‰

We crossed pathes with this giant sucker on a recent party sweet sourcing trip.

Glorious sunshine!

Uhm…a new favourite quirk of Nicola’s. We must pose with all manequins. And I must take of photo of it for her.

My beautiful daughter.

Big squish from Teacher L. This sweet woman has been Nicola’s teacher for the better part of three years. I couldn’t have asked for a more nurturing teacher.

Ouma and Oupa’s tree also finally up!

Tree decorating is hard work!

We did a quick Wimpy lunch today after her last day of school as a special treat.

And we had our first night this season of Christmas light hunting. This particular house is still the most spectacular that we’ve seen around these parts and draws massive crowds.
Nicola was so excited she almost lifted off!πŸ™‚

  1. wow, that’s a house? AMAZING effort!!! They should leave a donation tin outsideπŸ™‚

Love the pics with the mannequins!!

I know, hey? We told them tonight that next year they have to eat breakfast at home, they have to take their own lunch and the eyes got bigger and bigger.

And then K cried later, seemingly randomly, but she eventually said, “I’m going to miss Teacher J” and I said, “oh BABY, I love your heart” and I got the LOOK!πŸ™‚

    • They usually have three big bins (clothes, toys and food), and a bottle for cash donations just inside the gate.

K is so sweet! On 12 Dec 2014 11:32 PM, “123 Blog Myself” wrote:

  2. No preschool, no goodbyes here. I think not having preschool really left them anxious to start school. If it weren’t for the meet-n-greet they had, I’m not sure they would have step food inside on the first day of K!

I should really go take pictures of houses decorated for you guys!

    • Please do! I’ve heard it’s quite spectacular. On 13 Dec 2014 4:30 AM, “123 Blog Myself” wrote:

  4. They grow too fast . I’m sure she’ll make loads of friends and settled in well.

And those mannequin pictures. Love love love

There’s a street in pretoria where virtually every house is decorated. Even the Jewish house there has the Hanukkah decoration. It is stunning. I love Christmas lights. I’ve been to the garden of light 3 years in a row. And plan to make it 4 this year

    • We went to the garden of lights for the first time this year…wow! On 13 Dec 2014 10:34 PM, “123 Blog Myself” wrote:
