Birthday Adventure : Jhb Zoo

20 December , 2013

As you know, every year on her birthday, Nicola and I have a little adventure. This year we decided to go to the zoo.

She had a wish list of animals that she wanted to see while we’re there: lion, giraffe, zebra, crocodile, skunk and hamster. We hit everything except the skunk and the hamster. πŸ˜‰

And a few others, not on the list. The monkey really had a thing for Nicola – we spent ages there.

We even got a chance to enjoy a few of the rides they have right at the main entrance.

Nicola’s favourite was the seashell ride…maybe next year we’ll go to Goldreef City amusement park?

It was a great day and we had loads of fun. Someone fell asleep.in the car on the way home (not me, I was driving obviously). Lots of walking and ooh-ing and awe-ing will do that to you. πŸ˜‰

We popped in at Cresta on the way back. Like a f-ing ant’s nest I tell you! I really enjoy online shopping, that’s for sure. (we needed a bite to eat, there was nothing at the zoo except chips).

Ps! So far, I am really enjoying being on leave. Pure bliss… πŸ™‚

  1. Sounds like a good day at the Zoo… we were there not long back and found a great restaurant near the Gorilla cage, had a big monkey enclosure right next to it… great food, damned expensive but great…

    • I think it’s a bit of false advertising that every thing marked on the map with a hamburger, has no actual hamburgers.

At the third kiosk they told me about the restaurant, but by that time N was feeling unreasonably hungry and unwilling to take one morw step without sustenance. πŸ˜‰

  2. Love her face in the last shot πŸ™‚
Looks like she had an amazing birthday

    • She did! πŸ™‚

  3. I love the photo of her lying next to the monkey….so cute. Looks like great fun was had.

  4. Fun day the two of you had πŸ™‚ Glad you’re enjoying your leave.

  5. It looks like you had fun. πŸ™‚

    • We really did! I love these little adventures we have.

Say something...come on! You know you want to?
