Here we are, chucking bread at ducks at Emmarentia dam a while ago…I save up all the bread crusts in a bag in the freezer and when I start to battle to close the drawer I know it’s time to go feed the ducks again. Nicola LOVES it and the last time we dragged the whole family along for the ride. In fact we might follow it up with a picnic when we go again, it’s a great way to spend a morning.

  1. Nice pictures….I live very close to Emmarentia dam but have never been there…must make a plan to take Jada to feed the ducks..
PS..In case you haven’t noticed, I love picnic..most weekends I wake up early, bake some muffins, pack a picnic basket and head off to Delta Park

  2. I really love the pic of you and her. I do think it’s canvas-worthy.

ps…You and Nicola need to have a play date with Melinda and Jada!

  3. Hey Julia…we are way ahead of you on that plan….picnic in the park in July….

  4. YAY!!!

  5. LOve feeding animals – we regularly feed our street chickens – the kids love it.

  6. oooh, really nice pics. I love the top one – the framing is gorgeous🙂

I remember your bread crusts in the freezer – I kept mine for a bit but the allocated section was full within a week so I threw them out (I only have the one fridge and I cook for the freezer….)

When it warms up, we said we want to go back to Gillooly’s for a picnic and to feed ducks – we’ll invite you with us or you can invite us with you! I love when the kids run wild… safely🙂 and I can spy on them with my zoom lens🙂

  7. PS was that like ages ago or do you guys not feel the cold? Last day of shorts around here was 6 May. I know because I took a TON of pics that day! (the yoghurt pops)

  8. So cute!

  9. Melinda, it’s really nice but it doesn’t have those cool playground toys that your Delta park has.

Julia, thank you!😀 We have one set up for July already😆

Cat, I wish we had street chickens. I bet Nicola would have a ball with them too.

Marcia, sounds like a good plan! The bread crusts can quickly take over if you leave it too long, I know. I give it about a quarter of the top drawer of our freezer section. More than that and I know it’s time to go feed the birds. (The photo was taken in May yip…I’m THAT far behind in posting!)

    Angel, thanks!
