C-C-Cold!

What is up with this freaking weather?! Brrrrr…Somewhere someone has had the pleasure of seeing (and possibly playing in) some snow. Here in Johannesburg we only get the bloody freezing wind, none of the prettiness that I assume snow can bring. I feel like crap at the moment – I seem to have full blown flu and my voice has almost completely disappeared. I croak…
Big day Tuesday: I’m writing Criminal Procedure. I’m okay – I believe it will go well. 
Today I happily donned the half freezer suit that I received as a corporate gift from my previous employer. It’s apparently cheaper to give staff freezer suits than to make an un-insulated concrete and corrugated iron factory a humane place to work in winter? Although it’s recommended that you don’t wear it when you’re planning to weld or stand in front of an open flame paraffin heater – it’s highly flammable). 
I promised Denise I’d pop over to meet her fiance’ and to chat about her impending nuptials after my exam. I can’t be that jaded if buddies asking me to help plan their special day, now can I? Anyhoo – I look forward to meeting the young man who moved from Nylstroom to be with her (now that’s what you call dedication). She has assured me there will not be pink involved in the big day. Apparently her colour choices of white and gold is still a hot topic of debate amongst her family, who claim it will look like the Sahara – maybe we should get her a camel drawn carriage to suit? They are actually way ahead of schedule on these arguments since the wedding is only planned for next year April. For example: they’ve already had the veil argument – I only had that one about a month before my big day. This could get really ugly…hope I can help her out.
Does anyone else think it’s slightly odd? I mean here I am…aspirant divorce & family lawyer (a.k.a Rotweiler) and now also moonlighting as an assistant wedding planner? I am having a little chuckle about it. I will add this to the list of strange things I have done in the name of friendship.

Aquila: I just wish we could get the snow that goes with this freezing temperature – at least there’d be something to look at then.
Jo-Ann: I wrote this last night when I was feeling upbeat (must have been fever), but today it’s a whole different storie. I got up and I could hardly breathe so I went to the doctor and got myself booked off – apparently I have the nasty flu together with a middel ear infection. So no exam today, and no wedding planning for my friend either. (Turns out the timing’s pretty good since she is sick too).
Sounds like a very good reason to stay in bed with lots of blankets, cups of warm stuff and a lekker book or movie. I’m jealous.
